Govee’s new LED Lightwall comes with its own frame
Govee is back with another eye-catching take on ambient lighting, and this time it’s going big—literally.
The new LED Lightwall is less of a light strip and more of a statement piece. It arrives with its own freestanding frame, so you don’t even need a wall to mount it on.
At nearly eight feet wide and over five feet tall, the Lightwall is larger than most TVs. However, it’s not trying to replace one. Instead of focusing on resolution, Govee is leaning into atmosphere. The panel packs 1,536 colour-changing LEDs arranged in a 48 x 32 grid. Consequently, this creates a pixelated canvas designed for animations, reactive lighting, and bold visual effects rather than Netflix binges.
The big upgrade here isn’t just size, it’s flexibility. Unlike the older Curtain Lights Pro, which needed to be hung, the Lightwall’s aluminium frame can be assembled in around 10 to 15 minutes without tools. As a result, it makes it far easier to use in places like living rooms, events, or even outdoor setups. This is as long as there’s power nearby.
Inside the Govee Home app, you’ll find more than 200 preset scenes. There are music-reactive modes that sync lighting effects to whatever’s playing. Additionally, there’s also a more playful side. For example, AI-generated animations from text prompts. Or manual doodling with layered designs for those who want full creative control.
Despite its size, the Lightwall still fits neatly into a broader smart home setup. With Matter support and compatibility with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, it can slot into existing routines. Alternatively, it can be triggered with voice commands.
At $449.99, it’s not exactly an impulse buy. Yet, if you’re after something that blurs the line between lighting and digital art, this might be one of Govee’s most ambitious releases yet.
