Apple has announced that the following iPad models are compatible with iPadOS 27:
- iPad Pro 11-inch: 2nd generation and later (A12Z+)
- iPad Pro 12.9-inch: 4th generation and later (A12Z+)
- iPad Air: 4th generation and later
- iPad: 9th generation and later
- iPad mini: 6th generation and later
However, the most powerful Apple intelligence features are limited to iPads powered by the M4 chip and later with at least 12GB RAM.
How to identify your iPad model and iPadOS version
If you’re unsure of the exact model and generation of your iPad, it’s easy to check:
Settings > General > Aboutand check the model name and generation.
To check which version of iPadOS you are currently running:
Settings > Software Update
and check your current version. If an update is available, your iPad will show it here.
