You can win a free Ring doorbell by singing this week
Ring is leaning fully into the festive spirit this year with a campaign that blends smart-home tech with an old Christmas tradition.
For one week, people in the UK and Ireland can win a free Ring Video Doorbell, plus a £1,000 Amazon gift card, simply by singing a Christmas carol.
The idea comes off the back of a viral clip you may have already seen: a group of boys from Denny in Scotland going door-to-door singing carols, captured on a Ring camera. The video has racked up nearly two million views and sparked Ring’s new #RingAndSing campaign, which aims to revive carolling after the company’s research found that 96% of Brits feel the tradition has faded in their area.
Taking part is simple: perform a Christmas carol on a Ring video doorbell and share the video either in the Ring app or on social media using the #RingAndSing hashtag. The lads from Denny will then choose five of their favourite performances with the winners receiving the goods.
Ring is also adding a charitable angle. For every shared video, the company will donate £10 to Strathcarron Hospice, the organisation the Denny carollers have been supporting through their own fundraising.
If you want to take part, you have until December 15. And whether you’re hoping to win a new doorbell or simply keep a Christmas tradition alive, it might be the most festive smart-home giveaway of the season.
