Xiaomi’s high-end air purifier arrives in Europe — and the price is surprisingly good
Xiaomi’s latest flagship purifier, the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6, has officially landed in Europe, and it looks like one of the brand’s strongest smart home launches in years.
After quietly appearing on Xiaomi’s global site in August, many assumed it would remain a China-only release, but the company has now confirmed availability in select European markets.
The purifier arrives with a clean, minimalist design and a feature list that easily puts it in “premium” territory. Xiaomi says it uses a five-stage filtration system that targets everything from common allergens to lingering household odours, and it can reportedly clean an entire room in as little as 3.5 minutes thanks to a 443 m³/h CADR for particles. On paper, that puts it in the same league as more expensive models from established air-care brands.
It’s priced competitively
European pricing is fairly aggressive, too: it’s listed at €189.99 in Spain and €199.99 in Germany, though Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed a UK launch date yet.
One of the purifier’s standout tricks, and arguably the feature that sets it apart in this price bracket, is its ability to filter formaldehyde, a VOC released by furniture, carpets, some paints, and even fireplaces. Most mainstream purifiers simply don’t tackle it, so Xiaomi’s decision to include formaldehyde filtration could make it an appealing option for people sensitive to chemical pollutants or anyone dealing with new-home off-gassing.
With winter creeping in and demand for both purifiers and dehumidifiers peaking, the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 feels like it’s arriving at the perfect moment. And given Xiaomi’s habit of selling out its most popular smart home devices in Europe, the combination of power, design, and a sub-€200 price tag might make this one disappear quickly.
