Homey has launched the Homey Pro mini, a compact smart home hub that brings the power of Homey Pro to a wider audience, and at a much friendlier price.

Available now worldwide for £199, the Pro mini is designed to offer full local control, broad compatibility, and powerful automation tools in a smaller, more affordable package.

Despite its size, the Homey Pro mini runs the same Homey Pro OS, giving it access to the full suite of features that long time Homey users rely on. That includes Flow and Advanced Flow automations, Homey Dashboards, Homey Energy, and a deep library of both official and community-built apps. Homey says the Pro mini supports devices from over 1,000 brands, making it a strong option for users who want to unify different ecosystems without juggling multiple hubs.

Moreover, Homey Pro mini is built around a 1.5GHz quad-core ARMv8 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage which is enough to run around 20 Homey apps. That’s more than the average Homey Pro owner reportedly uses, making the Pro mini suitable for most households. For larger or more complex setups, the full-size Homey Pro still offers more headroom with double the RAM and the ability to run roughly 60 apps.

The Pro mini supports Ethernet, Zigbee, Thread, and Matter out of the box. And while Z-Wave, Bluetooth LE, 433MHz, and Infrared aren’t built in, you can add them via the Homey Bridge (€69), which also extends Zigbee coverage through Satellite Mode.

The hub handles most operations locally, with minimal cloud reliance — a growing priority for smart home owners who want faster automations and tighter control over their data.

The Homey Pro mini is available today through homey.app, with wider retail availability coming soon. With its mix of next-generation connectivity, local processing, and cross-ecosystem flexibility, it could become one of the easiest ways for new users to build a smart home, and one of the most appealing upgrades for long-time Homey fans who don’t need the full power of the flagship model.
