Eufy has launched the E20 Motion Sensor in select European markets, positioning it as a reliable trigger for other smart home devices. The sensor works indoors or outdoors, offers a 90° field of view, and boasts an impressive battery life of up to five years.

The E20 isn’t Eufy’s first motion detector, but it arrives at a time when rivals like Aqara and Meross have been pushing strong updates to their own smart sensors. This release shows Eufy is keen to keep pace, refreshing one of its more basic gadgets with meaningful improvements.

Available now on Amazon Germany for €39.99, the E20 is already listed on Eufy’s global website, suggesting a wider rollout is highly likely. Installation is straightforward: mount it on a wall or fix it into a corner at a height between 1.8 and 2.3 metres. From there, the sensor can detect motion up to eight metres away.

False alerts are a common frustration with motion sensors, but Eufy has built in animal detection. The E20 can distinguish pets weighing up to 36kg, reducing unnecessary triggers and making it more practical for households with dogs or cats.

Connectivity is another highlight. Eufy claims the E20 can maintain a stable connection up to 200 metres outdoors, giving homeowners flexibility in placement.

However, the sensor requires a Eufy HomeBase to manage remotely through the Eufy app. That means integration with other smart home hubs or ecosystems is limited, which could be a drawback for users invested in broader platforms like HomeKit or SmartThings.

Despite that limitation, the E20’s long battery life and robust detection features make it a strong addition to Eufy’s lineup. It complements the recently launched Eufy Entry Sensor E20 in the US, though the two differ in how they detect and monitor activity.

For now, the E20 Motion Sensor is a Europe‑first release, but with its listing on Eufy’s global site, a wider launch seems inevitable. With five‑year battery life, pet‑friendly detection, and flexible installation, Eufy’s latest sensor could be one of the most practical smart home upgrades of 2026.
