Our favourite tech from the busy Berlin tech show

The Ambient has been in Berlin this week, where IFA 2025 has been taking place. It’s a bit like CES or MWC, where all the big brands congregate to unveil a bunch of new gadgets.

Smart home has always been a key theme of IFA, and it’s no different this time around, with a large number of brands keen to show off the latest releases they want you to connect to your smart home.

Here are our Best in Show top picks from IFA 2025, ranging from security cameras to smart robots and more.

Baseus Security X1 Pro Outdoor Dual Camera

In 2025, AI has become a staple across tech, with outdoor security cameras certainly included. This model from Baseus stands out with a smart dual-tracking system designed to eliminate the blind spots that have often been an issue with certain setups.

Battery life isn’t a concern thanks to its integrated solar panel, while recording is handled in crisp 3K with full night vision support.

Best of all, there are no ongoing subscription fees, since footage is stored locally on a generous 512GB internal SSD.

Hue Bridge Pro

The new Hue Bridge Pro is an upgrade we have been waiting for what seems like an age to arrive.

Mammotion Tri-Fusion

At IFA 2025, Mammotion unveiled an interesting tech that fuses LiDAR, RTX, and Vision into a unified platform. The aim is to set a new benchmark for precision and adaptability across its entire product range.

Acemate Tennis Robot

While we mostly look at tech inside the smart home, this is helping you outside of the home. And it could be the robot tennis coach we’ve always wanted.

acemate

The Acemate is equipped with dual 4K cameras that deliver centimetre-level accuracy, plus a powerful ball launcher capable of firing shots at up to 70mph at heights of 8m. Naturally, AI is built in – providing performance insights, as well as detailed shot and swing tracking.

Switchbot AI Hub

SwitchBot has built a reputation for clever home tech, and its latest AI Hub is designed to pull everything together.

At its core, the hub uses AI to interpret natural commands and requests. When paired with a supported SwitchBot camera, it can even capture and analyse visual data. So if you ask, “Where did I leave my phone?”, it can scan the footage and pinpoint it for you.
