Gadronics Govee has expanded its outdoor lighting range with the Outdoor Solar String Lights, its first solar-powered product and the brand’s answer to a segment that has historically offered little beyond basic on/off illumination.
The lights mark Govee’s entry into solar-powered outdoor lighting at a moment when the category has attracted growing consumer interest, particularly among those seeking low-maintenance alternatives to mains-connected garden string lights that require proximity to outdoor power sockets.
Colour performance sits at the centre of the product, with the lights using Govee’s LuminBlend system to produce smoother transitions between shades and a more refined output than the flat, static tones that define most solar-powered string lights currently on the market.
That soft white mode addresses one of the more common criticisms of colour-capable smart string lights, which often produce a noticeably artificial quality when set to warmer tones rather than matching the output of conventional outdoor lighting.
Power delivery comes from a 6W solar panel that Govee says charges approximately 50% faster than standard 4W panels, with the manufacturer claiming the system delivers up to 13 hours of continuous illumination from a full charge under suitable solar conditions.
The lights carry an IP67 waterproof rating, placing them within the same durability band as outdoor products built to handle sustained rain exposure rather than only light splashing, a threshold many competing solar string lights fall short of.
Govee CEO Eric Wu said the product reflects the brand’s intention to bring more expressive colour options to solar lighting, a category Wu described as long limited in creative range compared with mains-powered alternatives.
The Outdoor Solar String Lights are currently available in the United States at $99.99 through Amazon and Govee’s own online store, with the product listed on Govee’s EU coming soon page suggesting a wider regional launch is in preparation.
Govee has not confirmed a timeline for the EU release, though the active listing indicates the brand intends to extend availability beyond the US market in the coming months.
