Apple TV just brought back one of last year’s biggest hit shows, and this summer at least three more series are scheduled to return—including a long-awaited title. Here’s what’s coming.

Ted Lasso season 4

We believed, and now it’s finally happening: Ted Lasso is returning to Apple TV.

Ted Lasso season 4 will premiere this summer, reportedly in August per star Hannah Waddingham.

The return of Ted Lasso follows years of speculation about the fate of Apple TV’s beloved hit.

Here’s Apple’s summary of the season 4 plot:

Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.

Apple recently released a brief clip teasing the plot, with Beard reading the book SoccerWomen by Gemma Clarke.

Sugar season 2

Apple TV’s Sugar is an LA-based noir mystery series with a sci-fi twist, and it’s back this summer for season 2.

Sugar season 2 premieres Friday, June 19 with one episode, followed by weekly releases through August 7.

Colin Farrell stars as the titular private detective, John Sugar. I loved the first season, which is unlike any other series Apple offers. And I’m intrigued by how the sci-fi twist factors into season 2.

Here’s a spoiler-free series summary:

“Sugar” is a contemporary, unique take on one of the most popular and significant genres in literary, motion picture and television history: the private detective story. Season two ushers in the return of Los Angeles’ iconic private detective and film connoisseur, John Sugar. Emmy Award nominee Colin Farrell returns for a new case, tracking the troubled older brother of an up-and-coming local boxer as his search for his beloved missing sister continues. As the investigation expands into a citywide conspiracy with sinister intentions, Sugar must reckon with himself to answer the question — how far will he go to do what’s right?

Women in Blue (‘Las Azules’) season 2

Women in Blue (’Las Azules’) is part of Apple’s growing library of foreign language series.

The show is a Spanish-language crime drama with a premise inspired by true events. It revolves around four women who join Mexico’s first female police force, but discover it’s a publicity stunt to distract from a serial killer on the loose.

Women in Blue season 2 premieres Wednesday, August 12 with one episode, followed by weekly releases through September 30.

Here’s the plot preview for the first season:

Set in 1971 and inspired by true events, “Women in Blue” tells the story of four women who defy the ultraconservative norms of the time and join Mexico’s first female police force, only to discover that their squad is a publicity stunt to distract the media from a brutal serial killer. As the body count grows, María (Mori), whose determination to catch the killer becomes an obsession, Gabina (Amorita Rasgado), whose father is a renowned cop, Ángeles (Ximena Sariñana), a brilliant fingerprint analyst, and Valentina (Natalia Téllez), a young rebel, set up a secret investigation to achieve what no male officer has been able to do and bring the serial killer to justice.

The series’ first season was acclaimed by critics—it has a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes from 16 reviews. It stars Bárbara Mori and was created by award-winning showrunner and director Fernando Rovzar (‘Monarca’) and Pablo Aramendi (‘Tijuana’).
