Imperfect Women is a new Apple TV thriller series premiering next week, and the first reviews have just arrived. Here’s what reviewers are saying.
Imperfect Women reviews arrive ahead of Apple TV premiere
If you’re looking for your next prestige series from Apple, you won’t have to wait long.
Imperfect Women premieres on Wednesday, March 18 with two episodes, followed by weekly releases through April 29.
Based on the novel by the same name, Imperfect Women stars Elisabeth Moss, Kerry Washington, Kate Mara, Joel Kinnaman, Corey Stoll, Leslie Odom Jr., and more.
Per Apple, the series “examines a crime that shatters the lives of a decades-long friendship of three women.”
The first reviews have arrived, here’s are some excerpts:
- AV Club: “Imperfect Women may not reinvent the murder-mystery format, but it does elevate it through sharply drawn characters and a willingness to let…them be complicated, contradictory, occasionally infuriating, and ultimately compelling.”

In short, Imperfect Women offers a strong character exploration, with twists and an engaging plot, but the mystery itself is a bit predictable and thus, not the ultimate highlight.
So if you enjoy Big Little Lies-style crime dramas, you’ll probably love Imperfect Women. But if you’re tired of the genre’s trappings, there’s not a lot new being done here.
