SwitchBot has officially launched its AI Art Frame following its IFA 2025 showcase, marking the arrival of the world’s first AI-powered colour E Ink art display.

Available in the UK from £149.99, the frame blends generative AI creativity with ultra-low power consumption, minimalist design, and flexible sizing to bring digital artistry into modern homes.

Powered by Google’s NanoBanana AI engine, it enables users to generate original artworks or remix existing images into oil paintings, watercolours, or anime-inspired styles. A free 30-day trial offers up to 400 generations per month, with ongoing access priced at £3.20.

Offered in three sizes (7.3”, 13.3”, and 31.5”), the frame can be mounted horizontally or vertically, making it versatile enough for desks, bedrooms, or gallery walls.

Powered by E Ink Spectra 6 technology, the display mimics the layered texture of traditional paintings while remaining glare-free and backlight-free. Spectra 6 delivers over 60,000 colours with enhanced saturation and contrast, ensuring crisp, print-like visuals even under bright light.

This makes the frame ideal for everyday artistry without the eye strain associated with conventional digital screens. Unlike standard digital photo frames, the SwitchBot AI Art Frame consumes power only when changing content, with its 2000mAh battery lasting up to two years per charge.

The SwitchBot App enables users to upload and organise up to 10 pictures locally or sync new artworks daily. The AI Studio offers two creative modes: AI Art Prompt, which turns text or doodles into new artworks, and AI Art Remix, which transforms photos into painterly or stylised pieces.

This dual functionality positions the frame as both a digital gallery and a creative tool, appealing to those who want evolving art without constant manual updates.

Design-wise, the frame is constructed from premium aluminium alloy with swappable bezels to match different interiors. Its wireless, cable-free aesthetic ensures it blends seamlessly into home décor, whether displayed individually or as part of a curated wall gallery.

Competing products such as LG’s Gallery TV and Fraimic’s Smart Canvas also explore AI-driven art displays, but SwitchBot’s focus on E Ink technology and long battery life sets it apart in terms of practicality and energy efficiency.

For UK buyers, the SwitchBot AI Art Frame is priced from £149.99, with bundle options available. Pre-orders are expected to ship by the end of February 2026.

Those interested in exploring alternatives may also consider Samsung’s The Frame or LG’s Gallery TV, though these rely on conventional display panels rather than energy-efficient E Ink.
