Apple is rolling out new firmware updates for four Magic Keyboard models for the iPad Air and the iPad Pro. Here are the details.

Firmware updates now available for four models

While they’re rare, Apple’s firmware updates for Magic Keyboards usually bring important bug and security fixes, as well as reliability and performance improvements.

As spotted by Aaron Perris on X, the company has released the firmware updates for the following Magic Keyboard models:

In a nutshell, the firmware update covers Magic Keyboard models for the M4 (and M5) iPad Pro in both 11-inch and 13-inch sizes, and also includes the Magic Keyboard designed for the 11 and 13-inch M3 iPad Air.

Apple has yet to share any release notes, but we’ll report back in the off chance the firmware update adds new features beyond bug fixes and performance improvements.

Unlike the AirPods, there currently isn’t a way to force or trigger firmware updates on Magic Keyboards. As Apple explains:

Firmware updates are automatically delivered in the background while the Magic Keyboard is actively paired to a device running macOS, iOS, iPadOS, or tvOS.

To check which firmware version you’re currently running, head over to Settings > General > About > Magic Keyboard.
